Properties

VELTONIC is designed for dairy and beef cows during dry period. VELTONIC is a mineral feed that meets the requirements of dried cows and contributes to get a negative dietary cation-anion difference (DCAD) of the feed during this period.

VELTONIC is formulated to supplement the nutritional intake of dry cows’ ration. It includes phosphorus, calcium and magnesium. It is supplemented with trace elements and vitamins, which are necessary for the end of gestation and for fetal development: copper, zinc, manganese, iodine, cobalt and selenium and vitamins A, D3, E and C. VELTONIC also includes plants such as Caulophyllum and cohosh.

VELTONIC is available in a formulation that complies with the specifications of organic farming.

Trials

VELTONIC’s effects on the calving (easiness, dynamism) were highlighted in a trial on primiparous dairy cows.

The results were as follow:

  • less assistance was required during calving,
  • stronger calves,
  • a smoother postpartum period.

In addition, cows’ colostrum tended to be better after calving.
